One-visit dentistry at our Dental Clinic

For business people, and those with busy lifestyles, making frequent visits to the dentist can be time consuming. Likewise some people travelling abroad for dental treatment have to wait 4-5 days to have crowns or bridges made, adding additional expense.

CEREC is revolutionizing the dental industry, enabling porcelain restorations to be completed within a single appointment. With the acquisition of laboratory processing Body Bureau can now offer same day crowns, veneers, in-lays and on-lays. Very soon bridges too. What does this mean for you?

The powerful CEREC MC XL PREMIUM allows our dentists to digitally scan the mouth using exclusive Bluecam technology, which provides digital impressions of the highest precision for impeccable results, and mill the required fitting.

A standard crown can be produced in less than an hour meaning only one visit is needed, there is less drilling, fewer injections, and with digital scanning you get the most accurate fitting.

Globally, and about every twenty seconds, a CEREC restoration takes place. In its twenty-year history, this technology has enabled dentists to make more than six million restorations. Employing materials that do not contain any metals and closely resemble your natural tooth enamel, CEREC provides superior quality restorative treatment. CEREC is available in Lithuania through us.

The process of fitting crowns and bridges

CEREC MC XL PREMIUM is the new gold standard high-tech dentistry has to offer. Available in Lithuania only through our dental clinic.

process of fitting crowns and bridges

  1. X-rays are taken to assess the health of teeth which require crowns.
  2. The tooth receiving the crown is filed down, the bridge supporting teeth are re-contoured by removing a portion of enamel to allow room for a crown to be placed over them.
  3. An optical BlueCam impression is taken. Then, this virtual 3D model of your tooth is loaded into a computer, and will be processed in the high precision computer-aided design and milling device.
  4. A shade guide may be used to select the correct colour of porcelain. With CEREC, we can use strong, tooth coloured ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function. These materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure.

Get rid of your old leaking black silver fillings (amalgams), restore your broken teeth, improve your bad teeth, and enjoy the healthiness and comfort of mercury free (metal free) dentistry, durable high precision pure porcelain crown or inlay.

Dental Crown

Dental crowns can be used to replace chipped, decayed, broken, misaligned, or discoloured teeth, and is recommended for teeth with large fillings.

An Odontika dentist will match the artificial crown up to the shape and colour of your other teeth so it will look natural. The crown will last for many years, depending on the health of the tooth underneath.

HOW CROWNS ARE MADE?– Usually a crown takes two visits: on the first visit, the tooth is prepared by being shaved down. An impression is taken of your teeth, and this impression is sent to a laboratory where your crown will be made. Meanwhile, you wear a temporary crown made with some type of plastic material. On your second appointment, the temporary is removed and the durable crown is placed on your tooth.

CEREC ONE-VISIT CROWNS – A recent innovation available in the offices of some cosmetic dentists is the “Computer-assisted design-Computer-assisted manufacture” crown, or “CAD-CAM.” The company that is foremost in this technology is CEREC. This crown is milled by a computer to fit your tooth precisely, thus eliminating the laboratory step in manufacturing the crown.

Dental Bridge

Dental Bridges are used to span, or bridge a gap (missing teeth) between healthy teeth or implants. It is used to restore appearance and function. A bridge can be made from either porcelain, metal or both. Same as with crowns, teeth on either side of the empty space are reshaped and reduced in size. The two shaped teeth then act as anchors, or abutments.

Types of crowns and bridges

Porcelain-fused-to-metal dental crowns and bridges can be colour matched to your adjacent teeth (unlike the metallic crowns). Next to all-ceramic crowns, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns look most like normal teeth. However, sometimes the metal underlying the crown’s porcelain can show through as a dark line, especially at the gum line and even more so if your gums recede. These crowns can be a good choice for front or back teeth.

Glass based ceramics or all-porcelain dental crowns provide the best natural colour match than any other type and may be more suitable for people with metal allergies. However, they are not as strong as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and bridges, that’s why they are recommended for front teeth.

Zirconium based ceramics is a unique system for the fabrication of aesthetic and functional dental restorations. A CAD/CAM technology scanning procedure renders a custom manufactured coping, which ensures optimal fit, great strength, non-porosity and has the ability to transmit light. Zirconium base ceramic crowns and bridges can be recommended for prosthetic reconstructions anywhere in the mouth, due to the strength of the core material. It is made of a bio-compatible material, which minimizes the risk of allergic reactions. The translucent coping offers remarkable aesthetic characteristics, recreating the beauty of natural teeth.

Significant of dental Hygiene after receiving crowns or bridges

While a crowned tooth does not require any special care, you should continue to follow good oral hygiene practices, including brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing once a day – especially around the crown area where the gum meets the tooth.

Bridges are cemented in place, so they cannot be removed for cleaning. To keep the teeth healthy, the gap under a bridge must be cleaned daily using special interdental brush – an ordinary toothbrush is not enough.

In some cases where a tooth has a large defect (but not so large to make a crown), we propose to reconstruct the missing part of the tooth by a porcelain on-lay. In this way the tooth shaping and crown fitting is avoided. The colour is selected individually in every case. On-lays ensure long–term and aesthetic restoration. They are very strong and more durable than ordinary large fillings. They are suitable for the grinding surfaces of the molar teeth and can be made out of porcelain or gold.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a very thin outer shell of ceramic placed to the front of the teeth surface. Veneers are a conservative application of cosmetic dentistry where reducing or reshaping the natural tooth’s structure is minimal. Veneers can however result in a very positive improvement to a person’s smile. Porcelain veneers are placed to mask discolourations  to brighten teeth, and to improve a smile.

Treatment process:

  1. The enamel on the front side of the tooth is removed. The goal is to trim the tooth about the same amount as the thickness of the veneer that will ultimately be bonded into place. This way the net size of the tooth will not be dramatically changed.Impressions are taken.
  2. Temporary Veneers are made.
  3. Porcelain veneers are made in the dental laboratory.
  4. Bonding: Once you and your dentist have determined that the shape and shade of your veneer is appropriate it can be bonded into place.
