About Otoplasty

Happy young woman This surgery is helpful when the patient has significant ear protrusion or ear asymmetry. Correction of the shape, size or position of ears – medically known as otoplasty and also known as ear-pinning or ear-correction – is usually performed for children from the age of 6, but also for adults.

This procedure is typically used to correct protruding, prominent ears. This is a congenital aesthetic defect that can in rare cases also occur as the result of an accident. Ear pinning positively impacts a patient’s psychological wellbeing and the overall appearance of the face.

Now you can have this operation at one of the biggest private clinics in Lithuania, with an experienced plastic surgeon, for an affordable price.

Operation

Northway Infertility ClinicThe surgery takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours and is normally performed on adults under local anesthetic, and on children under general anesthetic.

The surgeon makes an incision in the back of the ear, adjusts the ear cartilage as necessary and fixes the ear in the desired position. A few hours after the operation the patient is permitted to go home, but returns the next day to have the dressing applied.

Usually for children dissolvable sutures are used, and for adults removable stitches. (These can be removed after one week, free of charge, in our London centre). Adults can return to work one week after the operation. The procedure leaves a tiny scar behind the ear, but this usually disappears within 4 to 6 months.

Patients are recommended to avoid contact-sports for 1-2 months, but allowed to swim 2-3 weeks after the surgery. It is also recommended to avoid exposure to strong sunlight for several weeks after the surgery.

Body Bureau can help children and adults get this treatment abroad in a 3-4 day trip, at short notice, and for a great saving on UK prices.
